- Things to Do
Two opportunities to dance the night away ...
KINETIC from Friday 10:30 PM 'till 3 AM. Come and get on the dance floor: DJ Dirge (Excess Boston) is throwing down a high-energy mix of goth, dubstep, electro, and more, and VJ Jon Bonk (Elements) is creating dazzling live visuals on our dual projection screens.
Saturday Night Dance Saturday 11 PM until ..... very late. Or very early. Come and get your groove on! We're serving up a variety of beats that will move your feet and delight your ears! Your DJs for the evening: DIRGE, valiscariot, Xero, and FiG! We have a cash bar in the hallway with a variety of adult beverages (bring cash and ID to drink). You should definitely wear that; you look amazing. Seriously. Get down here! [All-ages event] Our lineup: DIRGE (11pm), valiscariot (12a), FiG (1am), DIRGE (2-4am), Xero (4am). Ends 5am (or later, if people are still dancing!)
But you thought it was Johnny Zed Saturday night this year? We regret that at the last minute DJ Johnny Zed is unable to attend. Thanks to the folks who are filling in at short notice.
Historical and Costume Dance
Costumes or historical dress encouraged but not required for these festive events:
- Saturday night: Time Traveler's Ball
- Sunday afternoon SCA/Renaissance Dance Come dance with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) at a Renaissance Ball on Sunday afternoon! We will be doing many types of dances: from the formal and elegant to the bouncy and energetic. No experience or partner necessary. All dances will be taught, so everyone will be able to join in the fun! Live music will be provided by the world famous Waytes of Carolingia. Medieval or Renaissance garb is welcome if you have some (and will certainly add to the atmosphere) but not required.
Two contra dances at Arisia!
Both contra dances are called by Kristin Seibert and all dances will be taught - so come even if you are an absolute beginner. And both dances will have live music. We'll have the eclectic sound of Einstein's Little Homunculus on Friday and a lively pick-up band led by Marnen Laibow-Koser on Saturnday
- Contra Dance called by Kristen Seibert with Einstein's Little Homunculus 6 pm to 8:30 pm
- Contra Dance called by Kristen Seibert with Marnen and friends 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
